Vermilion Dam Lodge is a full-service Lake Vermilion resort in Minnesota offering everything you need for a memorable family vacation or fishing getaway. Guests enjoy comfortable cabin rentals, a protected marina with guest-only boat and pontoon rentals, and direct access to world-class fishing on Lake Vermilion. On-site amenities include a heated outdoor pool, sandy beach, fish cleaning house, and a welcoming lodge with dining and gathering space. Whether you're planning a relaxing lakeside escape, an action-packed fishing trip, or a group retreat, Vermilion Dam Lodge combines scenic wilderness, modern conveniences, and friendly service to create an exceptional Northwoods experience.
The Pool
Our outdoor heated swimming pool is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunshine. The pool is heated to a comfortable temperature from the first week in June through Labor Day for your enjoyment. Lounge chairs are provided for a comfortable sunbathing experience. Enjoy a refreshing dip in our heated swimming pool even when the Northern Minnesota air has the cool setting on high!
The Beach
Protected well in the bay near the main boat dock is a nice beach. It provides a safe area for smaller children who like to play in the sand, with the water dropping off gradually.
The Lodge
Our lodge sits on the water's edge of Lake Vermilion and is central to the resort. The lodge has a large deck for our guests to enjoy. We designed our lodge to accommodate a wide variety of our guests’ needs. A large community area and general store are in the lodge. Feel free to use it as a place to meet, watch T.V. or burrow a board game.
The Dam
Water from Lake Vermilion spills out and cascades down through the east side of the resort's property then opens up into the Vermilion River. From there the river runs north 42 miles to Crane Lake and beyond to Hudson Bay. This provides the beauty and sounds of the whitewater rapids for our guests to enjoy.
The Dining Room
Our lodge is equipped with a dining room. We offer American plan home-cooked meals. Meals are available from May to early October. Please let us know prior to your arrival if you would like meal service. (If you would like to try the American Meal Plan, we need a 2-day notice.)
The Community Room
We have a large gathering area equipped with WiFi, big-screen TV, pop machine, free coffee. We have also provided tables and chairs for you and your group or family to gather for conversation, games or just hanging out. You can enjoy the view overlooking the marina.
The Main Dock/Bait Shop
Our main dock is equipped with a boathouse that features covered slips, electrical outlets, pay at the pump gas, live bait and a concrete boat ramp. Bait and ice are available for purchase. Ask us about fishing in the Vermilion River, Wolf Lake or Trout Lake. Guide services are available from local professional guides and can be arranged in the lodge. Half and full days are available.
The General Store
Our lodge is set up with a general store. You can purchase Clothing, Hats, Fishing Tackle, Souvenirs, Maps, Ice Cream and Basic Groceries.
The Fishing Dock
Located next to the dam is a designated fishing dock. The water hurrying to exit the lake over the dam is a great place to fish for all species by casting cranks, using a rig or a bobber. Or just relax and enjoy the view-- it's a wonderful photo-op spot! There are two benches for you to relax at the dock.

We have a laundromat near the pool (soap for sale in the lodge).
We have a sauna also near the pool.
WiFi is available FREE in cabins.
